This couple purchased a home in Alameda for its character and charm. Unfortunately, soon after a pipe burst and ruined their downstairs bathroom. They embarked on the remodeling journey for both their Master’s and downstairs bathrooms. An important consideration was to keep the character of the 1922 house.
During the demolition process, we found out that the entire plumbing structure had to be changed to avoid a repeat of the previous incident. This led to the project quickly growing in scope, especially with having to work around the century-old house.
In the downstairs bathroom, the location of the toilet was switched, the vanity enlarged, and the shower changed to a hybrid 20th Century Mid-Century Modern style with modern conveniences.
In the master bathroom, the outdated materials, vessel sinks, and the differing heights of the mirrors were fixed. Alongside that modern conveniences like a bidet and heated floors were installed.
