Imagine a world where nothing ever changes, and everything always stays the same.

It would be pretty bland and underdeveloped.

Fortunately, we live in a world where everything is constantly moving around us. Technology is advancing, building materials are more efficient, and with all of these upgrades, new styles and trends soon follow.

It can be frustrating trying to keep up with the latest trends. If you’re looking to remodel your bathroom, you’re in luck. We’ve compiled a list of the top 5 newest bathroom design trends.

Read on and get remodeling.

The first thing people notice when they walk into a room is the color scheme, and your bathroom is no exception. Updating your color scheme is a simple and cost-effective way to give the appearance of a pricey, high-quality bathroom renovation.

There are literally 10’s of thousands of combinations to pick from when choosing a color scheme. To make things a bit easier, we’ve come up with a few of the newest trending color schemes. Full on monochrome style, bold accents, and even the Dali style if you’re feeling brave.

Let’s dive into some details for these schemes.

A monochrome style is actually quite cool, and its slowly gaining popularity. If you’re not already familiar with it, monochrome is a design where there is one base color, blue for example, and you decorate with all different shades. You might try like a midnight blue on your baseboards, and pair it with a lighter sky blue on the walls.

The fun part about monochrome is that you can go classy and elegant or wacky and unconventional, and everything in between.

If you’re feeling classy, go for black as your base color. Color your trims with a deep gray, keeping it lighter on the walls themselves. Touch up your cabinets with some simple, but classy black lacey style designs. Finish off the look with some decorative vases or paintings in different shades of gray (even throw in some white).

If you’re feeling wacky, think of your favorite color and hit up the hardware store. Pick out four or five different color shade cards and start painting. Change out the toilet seat cover to match your favorite color.

Another style tending is adding a few bold accents. This is typically accomplished with painting one wall a different color than the rest, usually a brighter, bolder color. For example, you might have all white walls and one bright red wall.

You can also add accents simply through decor. Change out your soap dish and toothbrush holder for a new, brightly colored one. Match your shower curtain to add some flavor to the bathroom.

You can add as many accents as you deem fit, as long as you keep the accent color the same throughout. Adding too many accent colors can end up being less of a cool design and instead look more like things are just out of place.

Pro Tip #1: Gallons of paint can get expensive, especially if you’re buying several colors. If you’re using the paint for trims or small designs, try picking up a couple of cans of sample paint jars. They are usually very cheap and a little bit goes a long way.

Remember that the darker the room, the smaller the room feels.

The second thing people notice when they walk into a bathroom is the sink. Having a new sink is an easy way to really spice up your bathroom. Modern styles are always trending, but some of the older trends are making a comeback.

We’ve found a couple of bathroom sink trends that are sure to give your bathroom the full renovation feel:

Vessel sinks are sinks that sit on top of your counter. This style is one that you would find years and years ago when people would place an actual bowl on a table to wash their hands. Vessel sinks are making quite the comeback, showing up in everything from hotels, to restaurants, to at home bathrooms.

Vessel sinks can be as old or as modern as you like.

You can opt for a chrome finish with a fancy faucet for a more modern look. If you’re looking for something a bit more historic looking, you could a rustic looking bowl with a brass faucet. The rustic bowl gives you the older feel you’re looking for, while the brass faucet screams newly remodeled.

The geostone sink is a version of a vessel sink, but we’re grouping it into its own category.

Geostone sinks are big replicas of geostone rocks. When you break these rocks in half, you find natural and beautifully colored crystals. Many people collect geostones or wear them as jewelry, but the sink trend is totally new.

Change Up the Color Scheme
