Quartz Is Extremely Practical.
Quartz countertops are a manmade material, made of about 93% crushed quartz and 7% resin. When made for use as a countertop, quartz is non-porous and has very consistent coloring. Both of these qualities are valuable in a work space and if they are important to you then quartz is likely a better choice over granite.
Quartz Is Resistant To Stains
Quartz has no pores and never needs to be sealed. A well-made quartz countertop such as one from Silestone will be highly resistant to coffee, wine, lemon juice, olive oil, make-up, and other everyday products. Non-porous also means that quartz is antimicrobial.
Resistant To Scorch
Quartz will resist heat for a few moments, but it is not a good idea to take a very hot pan and leave it on your quartz countertop. Granite on the other hand will resist heat a bit better.
Resistant To Scratch
Quartz is one of the hardest minerals in the word. It is resistant to scratching, but a cutting board is recommended. Using knives directly on your quartz countertop will not only damage your precious quartz but it will damage your knives as well.
Quartz, of course, is not indestructible. Any excessive shock, force, or pressure can damage it. Even so, it will stand up to the challenge of being a very practical countertop for a kitchen or bathroom.
Are There Any Differences Between Quartz Brands And Manufacturers?
The biggest differences between the quartz manufacturers (Silestone, Pental, Caesarstone, etc) is that they can have slightly different slab sizes, colors, and polishes. The quartz material itself is nearly identical between all of the brands. It really comes down to what color you’re looking for. A computer screen doesn’t do justice to these beautiful materials.

Silestone – 25 year warranty (transferrable)

Wilsonart – 10 year warranty
